Fall Schedule for Cruise Ship Visits Announced

The City of Santa Barbara Waterfront Department schedules cruise ship visits during the Fall, Winter, and Spring and typically does not schedule cruise ship visits during the busier summer months of June, July, and August.
Large ships carrying as many as 3,500 passengers have come to our shores.
Below is the list of cruise ship visit expected to dock outside of Santa Barbara this October and November:

- 10/10/23 Celebrity Eclipse – 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, capacity – 2,850
- 10/17/23 Celebrity Eclipse – 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, capacity – 2,850
- 10/20/23 Seabourn Odyssey – 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, capacity – 450
- 10/24/23 Crown Princess – 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, capacity – 3,080
- 10/31/23 Crown Princess – 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, capacity – 3,080
November
- 11/03/23 Norwegian Sun – 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, capacity – 1,976
- 11/08/23 Discovery Princess – 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, capacity – 3,660

It would be interesting to hear or read comments from tourists who walk up lower State Street from Stearn’s Wharf.
Perhaps “The Palm” from KEYT or “The Angry Poodle” (Nick Welsh) from the Independent or someone from Noozhawk could do a little roving on our behalf and report back.

The media sources you suggested would only report good things about the State Street “promenade.”
It is a pity that we must once again endure these monster ships polluting our off shore waters. And by the way, the cruise ship pictured for this article is not “docked.” It is at anchor. None of these behemoths can dock at our harbor. They would run aground.

I remember the silly council meeting where they pushed these down our throats. They promised “2 or 3” per season and they wouldn’t impact resources, operations or locals. Their study said an enormous amount of money would be spent locally. All of that was a joke (we knew that) ad the only people making money are the waterfront department and the PD. Ask the waterfront how much they rake in per person on the manifest, even if they don’t come ashore.
