A 4.0 magnitude earthquake struck outside Ojai on Friday afternoon.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reports the epicenter of the quake struck at 1:12 p.m. about five miles east of Ojai off Sulphur Mountain Road.

It reached a depth of 10.5 kilometers and reports could be felt as far north as Monterey and as far south as Palm Springs, reports USGS.
