Early Morning Lompoc House Fire Claims One Life

One person died in an early morning residential fire in Lompoc on Friday. The incident unfolded in the 1300 block of West Locust Avenue.

The Lompoc Fire Department responded to the 9-1-1 call, arriving at the scene just 16 minutes after midnight. Upon their arrival, they discovered a residential property engulfed in flames, with one occupant unaccounted for, according to the Lompoc Fire Department.

The first engine on the scene secured a hose line with firefighters making their way into the single-story home, detailed the Lompoc Fire Department.

Despite their efforts, the sole resident succumbed to their injuries at the scene, despite the life-saving measures initiated by the first responders. The identity of the deceased individual has not been released at this time.

No other injuries were reported amongst the responders. An investigation is open to determine the cause of the fire.
