Early Morning Earthquake in Malibu Beach

A 4.2 magnitude earthquake struck Malibu Beach early Wednesday with reports reaching as far as Lompoc. 

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reports the quake struck 10 miles south of the beach at 2:03 a.m.

The “Did You Feel It” report through USGS shows reports as far north as Lompoc, south to San Diego, and east to Palmdale.

A followup 1.6 magnitude earthquake was reported in the same area at 10:07 a.m. and a 2.1 magnitude quake struck east of Santa Barbara in the Mojave Desert at 11:26 a.m. Wednesday
