Early Morning Brush Fire Off Highway 166

Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a vehicle fire that spread to nearby brush off Highway 166 early Friday morning.

At 1:32 a.m., crews arrived in the area of Pine Canyon and found a vehicle fire spread in light to medium fuel at a slow rate of spread.

It took a little over an hour for crews to stop the forward progess of the fire.

One patient was transported to a nearby hosptial via Calstar helicopter.

Crews will remain on the scene to mop up the area.

This is a developing story.
