Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to an early morning fire inside an apartment building in Los Alamos.
At 2:47 a.m. Wednesday crews responded to the 200 block of Gonzales Drive. They discovered a fire coming from the lower unit of a two-story apartment complex.
Residents reported hearing a smoke detector then seeing the fire. They self-evacuated and called the Fire Department, according to Captain Scott Safechuck.
Crews knocked down the fire at 2:47 a.m. and confined it to an exterior patio.
The cause of the fire is unknown. There were no injuries.
