Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley announced today that Eric Mauricio Ramirez-Aguilar, a 40-year-old resident of Santa Barbara, California, pled guilty as charged to felony gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, driving while under the influence causing great bodily injury and fleeing the scene of an accident that resulted in death.
The charges stemmed from a double vehicular manslaughter that occurred on February 9, 2020. On that date, Mary Jane Corral and her husband Adolfo Corral, parents of four, were out walking their dog on Cathedral Oaks Road at 5:20pm. Mr. Ramirez-Aguilar, who was intoxicated at the time, swerved off the road while driving his Nissan sedan, struck and killed the couple, and subsequently fled the area.
Sentencing is set for February 18, 2021, in Department 6 in front of the Honorable Judge Pauline Maxwell. Based on his guilty pleas to all of the counts alleged, Mr. Ramirez-Aguilar faces a maximum of 17 years 8 months in State Prison.

couple quickies from article: However, “Three Strikes, You’re Out” has been under constant revision by the California Legislature and Democrat Governors who feel it isn’t an effective deterrent to crime, and more importantly, leads to prison overpopulation. (BlueOnion’s input; “so just them stay out and keep committing crimes…”
“The public needs to understand the magnitude of letting people out of prison,” said Sacramento County District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert in a Globe interview. “There is insufficient rehabilitation for these prisoners, and insufficient accountability.”

RELEASED YESTERDAY!! ==> Criminals are the real victims, according to the Los Angeles district attorney
DECEMBER 08, 2021 05:06 PM
From Article: It would seem like a pretty simple decision for a Democrat in charge of the criminal justice system as Gascon is in Los Angeles to take a hard-line stance on crimes committed with a gun. Democrats are the party of gun control, and Gascon is a proponent of it as well. But, like other liberal district attorneys, he is convinced his primary goal should be to keep criminals out of jail rather than have them face justice. That magical word “equity” is the goal, not safety.
“Social justice” is what prevails in cities dominated by Democrats. If you want real justice, you will have to look elsewhere.

It starts at the top, my friend(s)…
Some bias “news” sources right there.
“Overall, we rate the Washington Examiner Right Biased based on editorial positions that almost exclusively favor the right and Mixed for factual reporting due to several failed fact checks.”

READ the article champion, it’s not opinion… (I or nobody needs to check the link you provided). If ONCE YOU READ THE ARTICLE you don’t know/realize that what is stated is true, then you should pipe down. The information is what liberal DA Gascon stated, and what he’s doing.
Blue Onion: The AG, Governor, and definitely the President have exactly zero influence on charging decisions in criminal cases. Those are made by the deputy district attorney assigned to the case based on the evidence they have and the individual circumstances of the case. If they try to throw the book at the defendant and don’t have the evidence to back it up, they could lose the whole thing. So it’s better to go with what you can prove. The Apprentice host could still be President, Rutherford B. Hayes could be resurrected with the power of Christmas and become president. Same result. I’m curious though, in your understanding do you think individual prosecutors really care what politicians are in office when they do their job? Or that said politicians have any influence over or awareness of tens of thousands of individual cases?
Ahh yes… it didn’t take long for some clueless MAGA moron to turn it political.
