Driver Injured in Highway 246 Collision

A driver suffered major injuries early Sunday morning after their vehicle collided with a tree on Highway 246.

At 2:14 a.m. Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to the 900 block of Highway 246 in Buellton where crews discovered a truck had collided with a tree.

Major extrication was required to retrieve a single occupant with major injuries. The patient was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

A dog was also located in the vehicle and was transported to a veterinarian for evaluation. 

The collision is under investigation by law enforcement.
