Driver Crashes Over Coyote Road

Montecito firefighters rescued two occupants of a truck that crashed over Coyote Road on Sunday.

Around 11:00 a.m., crews responded to the intersection of W. Mountain Drive and Coyote Road for a reported vehicle crash. When they arrived they discovered a pickup truck had gone off the roadway and fell 150 feet down an embankment. The truck landed near a residence below the road. 

Firefighters established a low-angle rope rescue system to reach both occupants and bring them to safety. 

The male driver and female passenger sustained minor injuries. They were transported to the hospital for treatment by ground ambulance.

Santa Barbara City, CHP, and AMR ambulance assisted in this resuce.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
