Around 5:15 p.m. (SUNDAY), CHP reported a head-on traffic collision in the 6000 block of Santa Rosa Road. This is in-between Lompoc and Buellton, closer to the Buellton side and near Lafond Winery.
Sheriff office called for County Fire and medics reporting multiple injuries.
Responding units still enroute as of 6:00 p.m.
Horrible. RIP
So young. Did they CHP say what kind of chevy’s these were? I’m assuming trucks. And if they were both traveling under 65mph it’s kind of hard to imagine two fatalities in chevy trucks at those speeds unless they weren’t wearing seatbelts?
a Chevy Colorado and a Chevy 2500
I believe one was white and one was silver. They were all from Solvang and Buellton. The two fatalities were two 23 year old females and the critical injury was a 22yo male.
Curious, why name the non-decedent?
That’s not common practice.
I have noticed the CHP do this is their releases more than once recently. I do not understand the point, at all. Decedents, yes name them. But injured? I find it to be an invasion of privacy at best.
Yeah and in some cases (she was not at fault here but that can be misconstrued by her name being released) it can lead to vengeful actions by friends or family of the deceased.
