Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a double-fatal vehicle collision in Santa Maria on Friday night.
The collision took place around 6:05 p.m.at the intersection of W. Main Street and Black Road.
Three vehicles were involved in the collision and there were a total of five patients. Two people died, one was airlifted to Cottage Hospital with serious injuries, and two people sustained minor injuries.
Extrication was required to retrieve the patients from the vehicles.
The Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office released the identity of the decedents from the collision. They are Oscar Campos, 30, and Miguel Preciado Nava, 20, both from Santa Maria. The remainder of the investigation will be handled by the California Highway Patrol.
