Sunrise Rotary Club’s annual Dolphin Dive event provided a free family festival on Saturday while raising money for local causes.

Favorite local band King Bee provided dancing music at Chase Palm Park while locals enjoyed the food, beverages, and kid-friendly fun.

The 200 foot water course, or pretty awesome water slide, took over the great meadow lawn while the Rotary club sold neon pink, blue, and orange dolphins for $10. Each dolphin would be placed at the top of the water course and then “released” down the slide where winning dolphins would be hand selected. The big prize winner was $5,000 with a few other $1,000 winners and additional prizes.

Santa Barbara City Fire Department Captain Joe Tieso, Engineer Roy Segovia, and firefighter Justin Kiel provided the water needed to facilitate the race for the dolphins.

All funds raised go to the Sunrise Rotary Club’s community and international projects. The local Rotary Club is a long-term supporter of the Boys and Girls Camp Whittier, which was devastated by the Whittier Fire, and was instrumental in its reconstruction.  They also support free dental clinics, dictionaries for all area third graders, Safety Town, La Cuesta students, Girls Inc, water treatment programs and more.
