Charlie is a sweet 2 year old male pitbull who was rescued as a pup and kept at a farmhouse.
Charlie deserves and needs a good, loving home. He’s VERY affectionate, almost too much because he’s really needing attention, time and expertise in training. If anyone would love to have a great dog whose sensitive, kind to other animals, a big ole sofite in a buff body, he’s the one for you! If you are interested in giving Charlie a loving forever home please contact Ava at +1 (559) 425-7224.
2:42, they really are 2 different issues. If the dog has a prey drive for cats and squirrels, would you conclude that they could not live with other dogs or small children? This is pretty common. A dog not recognizing social cues during intense play because it was undersocialized as a puppy has nothing to do with being a danger to small children. But if you feel that way, feel free to not adopt a dog like that. There are plenty of the rest of us that are okay with it.
What an inappropriate photo. Showing this dog with “aggression issues” next to a child probably not as big as he is is so misleading. Is the dog neutered at least?
His aggression issues are with other dogs because he doesn’t know how to play appropriately because some people don’t socialize their dogs properly. Has nothing to do with him being next to a child. But you can keep freaking out if you want. There is a lot of that going on.
Usually behavior like that is easily correctable with a trainer that knows what they are doing. Rescues and shelters don’t always have the resources to do that so they just look for a home without other dogs. I took a dominant female home for a couple of nights that was supposed to be severely dog aggressive so she didn’t have to spend the sub 30 deg January nights outdoors , and after 2 days she started wagging her tail at my other dogs. Was with me for 2 years after that and was one of the best fosters I ever had.
