Cops have their hands tied. It’s discouraged to arrest anyone on anything other than felonies as it costs the City big money in booking fees to bring one of these degenerates to County Jail… The City, City Council and voting residents embrace the “homeless” (BUMS) from all over the U.S. to come here and take advantage of the lax and liberal attitudes of the community. They are fed, and, if “homeless” long enough, get subsidized housing in the “American Riviera”! So, we are all listening to your suggested SOLUTION to not only cleaning up Ortega Park, but EVERY park and State St, etc…. Do share your solution ideas.
I suggest that people keep their mouths shut if they cannot do something about a situation instead of using it to put themselves up on a pedestal for the 11 O’Clock news…I don’t blame the police for anything that goes on in Santa Barbara so don’t put your words in my mouth I have said all along that there are not enough police officers in Santa Barbara the ones we have do one hell of a job maintaining. That is pretty much all they can do now with all the rights that people have funny thing I have never heard a police officer refer to the Homeless as Bums or a degenerate or blame a liberal for anything…That is another problem with politics one side blaming the other nothing ever gets done….My answer fire all the politicians. How is it discouraged to arrest anyone on anything other than a felony? I hear many people get arrested every day on lesser crimes listening to the scanner you say it costs the city BIG MONEY How Much? So according to you it’s discouraged but according to my scanner I hear many arrests each day not all of them are felonies….After reading what you wrote I would suggest to you to give up everything you have for acouple weeks put on some old clothing get a sleeping bag and get out there for a month or two Go Homeless that way you can see and experience for yourself how easy it is being homeless instead of spewing something you know nothing about.
