Deputies Close Case on Overturned Kayak, Owner Accidentally Left it on the Beach

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office has issued an update on the found kayak.

The owner has been located and the kayak was left out on the beach and washed out. The investigation has closed.


Deputies Ask for Information About Overturned Kayak Found Floating Off Isla Vista Coast

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Deputies are seeking public assistance to find the owner of a kayak that was floating in the ocean on Sunday morning.

At 8:34 a.m., the kayak pictured above was found overturned in the ocean near the 6800 block of Del Playa Drive in Isla Vista.

The owner of the kayak has not been found.

Anyone with information about the owner of the kayak is asked to call Sheriff’s dispatch at 805-683-2724.
