The City of Santa Barbara is soliciting proposals from prospective commercial tenants for lease of a 1,400 sq. ft. space in the Railway Express Agency building located at 224 Chapala Street on the historic Depot Lot in Downtown Santa Barbara. The property is zoned Hotel and Related Commerce 2 (HRC-2) and located within the Coastal Zone. Uses allowed in the HRC-2 Zone include: restaurants, small grocery stores, specialty and gift shops, art galleries, commercial recreational equipment rental, and other visitor-serving uses. The ideal tenant would provide goods or services complementary to the existing transportation-related and visitor-serving businesses in and around the Depot complex.
