The Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Bureau has confirmed the identity of the murder victim that was recovered by Sheriff’s detectives on September 21. The decedent is Joseph Martin Govey of Santa Maria. Govey was 53-years-old at the time of his death in December 2018.
Govey’s family had not heard from him since late 2018 and reported him as a missing person with Orange County Sheriff’s Office on August 23, 2019.
