This morning a ship was blowing its horn every 5 minutes which doesn’t usually happen…any reason you might have heard about? Super curious. There are no cruise ships for Oct. 3 on the schedule.

must be some new clown from the land locked earths that doesn’t know wtf a foghorn sound is. no cruise ships on schedule though!
Ok ok…that was me asking about the horn…no need to wisecrack. It really did sound like a ship’s horn because it was deeper in tone than the foghorn I normally hear on bad visivility days otherwise I wouldn’t have brougt it up. It caught my attention being that there is no ship scheduled for today. Maybe the horn needs a new battery? Lol
Guess what…it has everything to do with it because there was no cruise ship today. Comprende?
If it’s such a “ruckus” why don’t you just stay away from the tourist areas those days? No one is forcing you, a presumable “local,” to drive up and down Cabrillo on cruise days. We locals have learned to adapt so we can enjoy our town despite throngs of tourists – Solstice, Fiesta, every Sunday during Summer, etc etc…. Quit wanking and be happy you get to live in a place people spend thousands of dollars to visit for a couple days.
Cruise ship coming to visit. Been happening a lot lately and they use the foghorn if there is fog or bad visibility.
Cruiseships, ugh. I saw the SBPD SUV/officers hanging out down there yesterday next to the visitors’ easy up canopy. I wonder how much of a drain these ship visits are on the City. Everyone likes to think the ship tourists are spending, spending, spending but The Independent wrote an article years ago about how that’s not really the case at all. Do we really need to trade our clean air, clean ocean and deal with all the ruckus just to make a paltry few bucks?
Not even restaurants make much off of the ships, since they go back for their meals that are included with their ticket. I think only the wine tasting rooms and breweries end up serving them and making some $
