Armstrong Associates is proud to announce the completion of the long-awaited renovation of the All Saints-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Montecito. This historic community asset was erected in 1900. Armstrong Associates was selected to make the renovations to the church including seismic retrofitting. Armstrong began the renovation in 2019 and completed the project in June 2021.
The scope of the project was quite large with the need for nearly all new framing and new foundation, as well as HVAC systems and a reconfiguration of their Chancel with an accessibility lift. Most of the original woodwork had been preserved and restored through the remodel including its beautiful hammer beam trusses. The stain glass windows underwent a process as well to restore them to their original condition. Additionally, a Memorial Chapel with columbarium was added to the Sanctuary building. There were also updates to their restrooms and guild rooms.
“My wife and I were married in this church; our children were baptized here and went to preschool at All Saints. We are proud to have been the selected General Contractor to restore this beautiful historic structure” said Earl Armstrong, President of Armstrong Associates.
The Church resumed in-person worship services in July in the newly renovated sanctuary.
“We found Armstrong Associates to be the perfect partner to creatively handle this extremely complex project. Bringing a 120-year-old structure into the modern era without losing its historic charm and significance was a tall order. Armstrong truly brought their A-game and A-team to this assignment, and we are immensely grateful,” said the Rev. Aimeģe Eyer-Delevett, rector of All Saints-by-the-Sea.
