Colorized Mission #50

Original photograph by N.H. Reed circa 1890's. (Source: Edson Smith Photo Collection SBPL)

As a Newcomer, I started colorizing old Santa Barbara photos as a way to learn Santa Barbara history from a photographer’s perspective AND to learn Photoshop.

With the help of Edhat and their readership, I feel I accomplished a good bit of both; and as a result, I have met wonderful residents, local authors & historians as a bonus!

I will be going on a colorization posting hiatus with time to seek out additional & potentially different historic photographs for your enjoyment.

A very special thank you to the Edhat staff for their help in turning an idea into something for others to learn from and enjoy, as the original photographers of the past intended.

Happy Holidays!
See you in the new year!
