The Coast Guard rescued three people from a vessel on the rocks in Anacapa Island near Port Hueneme, Calif., Wednesday.

The operator aboard the Salty Jack, a 24-foot bayliner pleasure craft, notified watchstanders at Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach command center that the vessel was grounded on the rocks near Anacapa Island.

Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach diverted the Coast Guard Cutter Blacktip, home-ported in Oxnard, to assist the vessel. The crew of the Blacktip recovered one individual out of the water, pulled the vessel off the rocks and transferred the tow to TowBoatUS Ventura.

Coast Guard units that assisted with the rescue:

  • A Coast Guard 45-foot Response Boat Medium from Coast Guard Station Channel Islands Harbor.
