Cliff Rescue Below Santa Barbara Cemetery

Update by Montecito Fire Department
December 6, 2020

[Saturday] evening Montecito Firefighters responded to a woman who was stranded on the cliff south of the Santa Barbara Cemetery.

Luckily she had no major injuries, however, she was transported to the hospital for evaluation.

Engine 191 used a technical rope system to send a Firefighter/Paramedic over the side to make contact, assess her status, and help her put on a special harness.

We received assistance hauling her and the rescuer up from Santa Barbara City Fire, AMR, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, and Santa Barbara Police.
