California Highway Patrol (CHP) cited a 16-year-old for driving 126 mph on Highway 101 in Carpinteria early Wednesday morning.
Officer Buenrostro stopped an Audi TT going southbound near the Bailard offramp around 1:40 a.m.
The 16-year-old driver was with her 16-year-old sister and only had a provisional license at the time of the traffic stop.
The driver was cited for excessive speed and disobeying the provisional license before both juveniles were released to their parents.
“Let’s just say their parents weren’t very happy,” CHP stated.
Likely didn’t have parental permission! But never know…. glad nobody was killed and I hope that the parents are truly upset with their daughters and consequence them.
Just the facts, ma’am. So many assumptions! I’m just glad she didn’t kill anyone.

“consequence” is a verb now?
Holy cow! How unsafe!
I hope that girl learned a valuable lesson and will be safer in the future after this experience, and her Audi-supplying parents don’t just buy her a radar detector.
Oh my Lord! That’s excessive and so SOOO unsafe! Lucky no lives were taken that night. Ugh. Stupid teenage drivers!
The word was used correctly. You must have too much time on your hands and a sense of superiority.
CONCERNED4CA. This is you being witty/sarcastic, right? The Autobahn in Germany is much better maintained than our freeways and highways. The vehicles that drive upon the autobahn are more likely to be more precision type autos than we have here, too.
Rex, who? (Just joshing.)
I totally agree with LocalMatt! I also wonder what would Rex say …..
Wow such negative people out there! Give the poor girl a break. She was simply very busy texting and didn’t realize how fast she was going.
Five bucks says this girl tried to take a selfie with officer Buenrosto so she could post it on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, etc.
