A 10-year-old boy escaped a falling limb of an oak tree with minor injuries at Cachuma Lake on Saturday.

Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to the scene at 5:45 p.m. and discovered the limb of a tree hit a chair and picnic table. The child escaped the tree as it fell onto his family’s campsite.

Fire crews assessed the child and a ground ambulance transported him to Santa Ynez Cottage Hospital.
