Casitas Pass Off Ramp Closed for a Month

By Peter B.

The NB 101 Casitas Pass offramp in Carpinteria is closed for the next 30 days or so.  Caltrans is reconfiguring the offramp approach to Casitas Pass.

Pass the word along to friends and family who may be heading up this way from down south.  They can use the 150 exit, turn left over the 101 and then proceed down Carpinteria Avenue into Carp.  Or go to the Santa Monica Road exit, turn right at the Union 76 station (Risdon’s), and essentially double back into Carpinteria.

Northbound drivers can also exit at BAILARD Ave, cross over the freeway and then turn right on Carpinteria Ave (frontage road).  It’s about another two to three minutes to downtown.

Could get a bit dicey on the weekends when lots of campers and tourists show up.  Signs are up but sometimes you miss ‘em.
