Car Fire on Casitas Pass Road

California Highway Patrol (CHP) is on the scene of a car fire on Casitas Pass Road, SR-192, in Carpinteria.

This happened around 9:30 a.m. Thursday, where a van was reportedly fully engulfed in flames on the right side of the road.

CHP conducted a hard closure of the roadway.

Around 9:50 a.m. it was reported the front half of the van was completely burnt but the tires looked ok. A tow truck is enroute to remove the vehicle.

There is also another reported car fire on Highway 154 at Edison Street in Buellton. CHP responded around 10:00 a.m. for this one.

The vehicle is described as a 30,000 pound 4-axle dump truck. A road closure has been requested to Caltrans.
