Santa Barbara County Public Health is following the CDC, FDA, and state recommendations to pause administration of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.
Federal officials are reviewing cases where six women between the ages of 18 and 48 developed unusual types of blood clots 6 to 13 days after receiving the vaccine. This pause will last until the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) complete their review, which is expected to take several days.
Nearly 7,000,000 people have received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in the United States to date. People who received the vaccine in the last 3 weeks should look for any symptoms of these unusual clots, including severe headaches, abdominal or leg pain, and shortness of breath, and contact their medical provider if symptoms develop. People who don’t have a medical provider can either go to an Emergency Room or an Urgent Care or call 2-1-1 to connect with a healthcare provider or call 9-1-1 if emergency response is needed.
While these adverse events appear to be extremely rare, the agencies are recommending a pause in the use of the vaccine out of an abundance of caution, and until a thorough review is completed. This pause will also ensure that health care providers are aware of the potential for these adverse events and understand the appropriate treatment for patients if a blood clot occurs.

6 out of 6.8 million cases reported an extremely rare blood clot. That’s a 0.00009% chance of getting a blood clot. For women taking the birth control pill the rate for getting clots is about 0.3% to 1% over 10 years. Does the risk of a blood clot outweigh the risk of getting Covid?
I’m not sure what to make of this yet. Six cases of blood clots out of 7 million vaccinated people is not very many at all. Trump said this is a catastrophic mistake, and suggested the government agencies responsible for the decision were likely motivated by politics and ties to the other vaccine manufacturers. That is to be determined. He also correctly points out that the reputation of the Johnson vaccine will never recover. Interestingly, the Johnson vaccine is similar to the AstraZeneca vaccine that has been plagued with problems in Europe. Fauci says the decision to halt the Johnson vaccine is simply “following the science”, whatever that means anymore. Perhaps there are a lot more problems with this vaccine that have yet to be reported. But what about the other vaccines? The VAERS system has something close to 3000 reports of deaths associated with all the us COVID vaccines already. If 6 people having a problem is all it takes, there would be ample reason to halt all of the vaccines if VAERS is any indication. It will be very interesting to see how this all plays out and why they chose to scuttle the Johnson vaccine.

Well Sac, in this instance he’s not wrong. There is a greater risk of blood clots for a woman taking a pill to prevent a pregnancy than there is taking the JJ shot to prevent Covid. Think about that for a minute.

People are still listening to him because he’s one of the few speaking out against the corruption in DC. There are some on the far-left/socialist side as well but they too get silenced by Big Tech who favors the status quo and the real party of major corporations / capitalism – the DNC.

Yeah, yeah there’s some shady corrupt liberals, but to imply Trump is some beacon of integrity taking on the political dirt in DC is so far out of touch, it’s truly laughable. Inciting insurrection. Stoking the flames of white supremacy. Appointing his family to high level government positions. Making friends with dictators. I mean the list goes on and on and on and on…… come on now, you know.
No kidding! trump is more likely to be lamenting the extirpation of most of his corruption schemes. He still has those recurring charges to the victims who signed up to donate to fight the election results, though. You’ll never go broke underestimating the intelligence of a certain demographic.

I think you’re absolutely right. 6 people out of 7 million is less than a drop in the bucket. The decision to cancel the Johnson vaccine cannot be based on that low number alone. There has got to be more to this story that has yet to be reported. Regardless, this publicity is likely unrecoverable for the Johnson vaccine, and its terrible for the vaccine program in general. They have been running adds everywhere assuring us they didn’t cut any corners in development, that the vaccines are all safe, and that everyone should get vaccinated as soon as possible. Now they are saying “oops, we screwed up, one of three vaccines may not be safe, don’t get it, but the others are fine, trust us.” That is not a good look!
Australia has also dropped the Johnson & Johnson’s one-dose COVID-19 vaccine due to the same concerns (Ref. 1). The J & J vaccine uses an adenovirus vector much like the AstraZeneca’s Vaxzevria COVID-19 vaccine, which is also causing blood clots (Ref. 2).

Sac, if you think the corruption in Washington is now gone I have a bridge to sell you. Trump was a symptom of everything wrong with DC, not the cause.

As I’ve saying in my comments since the beginning, the risk of Covid has not been assessed in a rational way. Although it’s taken you 14 months Pit, I’m glad you finally realize this.

you’re making a lot of stuff up. most of 45’s corruption was perceived corruption, fed to you by media networks that have now admitted on camera it was their intent to get him out of office and that they participated in propaganda rather than news. That is corruption, and if you’re okay with that, you are part of the problem.
“some” = grossly understated. I’m not even going to get into the rest of the propaganda you mentioned but think about how you came to that opinion, was it listening or reading to speeches/press conferences in full? Or was it listening to selectively edited and heavily opined soundbites on the “news”? (which has now admitted on tape they intentionally participated in propaganda to get him out of office).
