A Buellton man arrested for attempting to kidnap a 2-year-old child from a grocery store has pled guilty to false imprisonment.
Earlier this month, 56-year-old William “Bill” Henderson pleaded guilty to an amended charge of false imprisonment by force or violence after the charge of kidnapping and cruelty to a child were dropped under a plea deal.
In August, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Albertsons grocery store in Buellton to investigate a report of an incident involving a 2-year-old child. They later learned Henderson had removed a 2-year-old child from inside a shopping cart and started walking toward the exit. The parent of the 2-year-old child stopped the suspect and the suspect released the child before leaving the store.
Henderson, the owner of a transportation business in the Santa Ynez Valley, was arrested a week later and pleaded not guilty to one felony count of false imprisonment by violence and one misdemeanor count of cruelty to a child in care or custody.
The plea agreement states Henderson will receive one year in county jail and five years of felony probation. He will be eligible for transportation to a residential treatment program after serving 270 days of his sentence. He will not be allowed to consume alcohol and must complete a 6-month outpatient treatment program.
The other charges will be dismissed.
Henderson will return to court on March 5 for sentencing.

White privilege.
Did you ever think about the ending of our Pledge of Allegiance? It doesn’t end with …”and EQUAL justice for all.”
1:16 – it’s not always “white privilege” any time a white person gets a sentence you don’t agree with.
I’m white and know damn well had this guy been Hispanic there would be comments like…”Build the Wall” “Is this guy a citizen?” and other comments so a big yes “White Privilege.”
A-1582238840 maybe not always, but this time it is
SHMONK – how so?
Probably bought his way out of prison with a good lawyer just another example of the business of justice.
Some people are allowed to break the law others are not I guess…
