Santa Barbara County firefighters aggressively attacked a two-acre brush fire near Sisquoc on Sunday afternoon.

Around 3:30 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to Old Rig Road off Cat Canyon and discovered a two-acre brush fire on the hillside burning at a slow rate of spread.

The fire was located in a remote area that was difficult to access but helicopters and air tankers assisted by making water and phos-chek drops, said Public Information Officer Mike Eliason.

Around 7:45 p.m., Eliason reported the fire was out and all resources were being released.

The fire was contained to 2 acres and the cause is under investigation.
