Brush Fire Near Cuyama

Santa Barbara County Firefighters are responding to a three-acre brush fire near Cuyama.

The report was called in at 10:51 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Highway 166, approximately 3/4 of a mile east from Highway 33 with a brush fire in grass with a moderate rate of spread.

Santa Barbara County Fire Department reports the resources on the scene can handle the fire after a helicopter made several successful water drops.

The fire is located on Bureau of Land Management jurisdiction.

Brush fire near Highway’s 166 at 33 in Santa Maria. It’s reported to be small.

  1. County Fire dispatch was responding to 166 and 33 at Cuyama with engines responding from several Santa Maria stations along with Los Alamos. Station 41 at Cuyama was not in service there due to other fires in the area.
