Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a brush fire near Sisquoc in the Santa Maria Valley early Monday morning.
At 6:09 a.m., crews arrived at the Foxen Canyon Road and Santa Maria Mesa Road and discovered a grass fire with a moderate rate of spread and the potential for 10 acres.
Two engines on the scene were able to hold the fire at 1 1/4 acres and stop it from progressing further.
All other incoming resources were canceled. Units remained on the scene to mop up.
The cause is under investigation.
[UPDATE]: The Santa Barbara County Fire Department confirms the fire was caused by power lines.
