On Saturday, December 15th, the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara hosted their annual Breakfast with Santa event at 632 East Canon Perdido Street.
This year was much different from last year when many staff members and families were evacuating from the Thomas Fire.
“Last year I looked out at the hills on fire and made the decision to have our event until we were officially evacuated. Unlike last year, this morning, over 750 families came, more than ever in the last decade. This shows a need in our community, that families are still struggling to get back on their feet after the fires and floods,” said Laurie Leis, Executive Director.
Families were served a delicious breakfast prepared by our friends at New Life Church.
The library was transformed into Santa’s workshop and over 360 kids got to select several gifts. Thank you to all generous community partners, volunteers, board and staff that made this event a heart filled success!
