I was driving south on SR-154 towards Santa Barbara around 1:00 p.m. Tuesday. Just past the San Antonio Creek Road turnoff around the bend I saw a CHP vehicle on the left side of the road and another on the right side. On the right side there was another vehicle or two pulled over. A civilian and an officer were standing over a body that was on the ground, really close to traffic.
The person was wearing orange-colored pants and it was unclear if this person was alive or in some kind of distress. As we continued towards SB there was a fire engine and ambulance but they both slowed down and flipped a u-turn to exit onto Foothill Road.
I don’t know if they were called off the scene or got lost or something. It was a strange occurrence.
I was listening the beginning and they initially called it Emergency Response but changed it to a Medical Emergency so it was downgraded on the scene. Started with 2 SB Fire and 1 County of which the last one remained. SB Fire got there way before AMR which had to come all the way from downtown SB. Lucky when I had my stroke SB Fire was there first as usual before AMR. Santa Barbara Fire saved me in time to fully recover.
I guess we should be happy that it’s going to the county! Glad You got the GOOD first responders!
