Santa Barbara Police responded to a report of a body found on East Beach early Monday morning.
At 6:45 a.m., officers received a report of an unresponsive male subject located at 1100 E. Cabrillo Blvd. just before 6:45 a.m. The subject was discovered by a passer-by who was walking on the beach and contacted 9-1-1, according to Sgt. Ethan Ragsdale to edhat.
“Following protocol, the subject received medical treatment on scene by City Fire and Paramedics, then was transported to Cottage Hospital where he was pronounced dead,” said Sgt. Ragsdale.
The name of the decedent is being withheld until the next of kin can be notified.
The Police Department reports there does not appear to be anything suspicious regarding the death but the case remains under investigation.
