Cyclists feel they own the world and that everybody around them is just a nuisance and should get out of their ways.
They have respect for no one else and , of course, for none of the riding rules.
I’m only surprised there aren’t any MORE incidents ..
If the cyclist was in the driveway to CVS, it’s possible the rider crossed traffic from the mountain side of State St. into oncoming traffic, so that would explain why he didn’t blow through the intersection. I hate to think that he was riding on the sidewalk and the driver of the car was not expecting it. I hope the cyclist is OK, and has learned a lesson in traffic awareness.
This “accident” was, as usual, caused by a negligent driver.
So, that’s true of every cyclist? What about drivers, like the person who ran over this cyclist?
It’s bad enough that you would offer up such an absurd generalization, but that three other people would upvote it shows how sick our society has become.

About a month ago we were having a bite to eat at El Pollo Loco, which is located on that corner, and could not believe how many light runners there were. Cyclists really need to look both ways when crossing that (and any) intersection.
On the contrary, you have no way of knowing whether I or anyone else has any way of knowing that it was a negligent driver. As for the other part of my statement, it’s a well-established fact that bike/car incidents are usually caused by negligent drivers: https://www.missourilawyers.com/legal-services/bicycle-accident-lawyer/five-common-causes/

You have NO way of knowing that.
