A bicyclist was almost crushed between a parked SUV and a large gardening truck that was making a right turn onto Laguna Street on Monday.

The gardening truck was driving in the wrong direction after turning right from E. Canon Perdido heading south onto Laguna St.  The bicyclist was traveling north on Laguna Street with another rider.

The bicyclist tried to veer to the right but there was a parked vehicle, which he grazed before being hit and fell hitting his head.

Having nowhere to go, his shoulder came in contact with the truck and his bike in contact with the front quarter panel of the SUV.

He initially declined medical care and ambulatory transportation, then reconsidered due to the fact that he was feeling extreme pain and had visible abrasions to the left side of his forehead.

The driver of the truck was cited for the extremely wide turn and thus technically driving in the wrong direction.
