Becker Well Capping Delayed

The capping of Becker Well on Summerland Beach has been pushed out due to ocean conditions, reports Heal the Ocean.

In a statement by the nonprofit, it was detailed that InterAct Ventura, the contractors who will cap the leaking well, have delayed the planned start date this week due to ocean conditions. Poor water quality, most likely due to the mudflow in Montecito, was cited as the main reason.

InterAct is hoping to start the project on February 26, depending on ocean conditions.
