Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a barn fire off Modoc Road late Tuesday evening.

At 11:19 p.m., crews responded to the 4000 block of Vista Clara Road off Modoc after a neighbor called in to report flames coming from a building.

When crews arrived they found a barn structure was fully involved in flames.

Firefighters knocked the fire down by 11:45 p.m. There were various livestock animals adjacent to the barn that were uninjured, reports Captain Scott Safechuck.

Crews remained on the scene to conduct overhaul and mop-up operations.

The cause is under investigation.
