Cruising the continent by air we’ve visited friends and family eager to share their river, mountain, lake or wilderness. Yet when we return to all that and so much more, especially after a flight like this Valentine’s Day, we’re happy to be here amid gentle Santa Barbarians.

Big sky over the Valley was delicious, Cachuma shone like a gem, and the San Marcos Foothills wore a lush green cloak.
