Attic Fire Extinguished in Goleta

Santa Barbara County Firefighters extinguished an attic fire in a Goleta home before it spread Thursday morning.

Crews initiated a first alarm response at 10:11 a.m. to the 1400 block of Camino Meleno for a structure fire. First arriving crews reported smoke from the left side of the structure and the response was upgraded to a second alarm due to an active fire.

Firefighters discovered the fire in the attic and initiated an aggressive attack preventing the fire from spreading to the rest of the house.

There were no reported injuries and no additional damage. The cause is under investigation.
