Attempted Murder Suspect Arrested for Shooting on S. Voluntario Street

On March 1, 2024, around 10:50 p.m., Santa Barbara Police Officers responded to a shots-fired call in the area of 200 South Voluntario Street.

Officers arrived on scene and located several potential victims who were all uninjured. The initial investigation revealed that an occupant of a vehicle had fired several rounds at the victims and then fled the area.

Santa Barbara Police Detectives started following leads to this shooting and identified 25-year-old Jack Flores Edgerton, of Ventura County, as the suspect involved in this case.

On May 2, 2024, Detectives arrested Edgerton on an arrest warrant authored by a Santa Barbara County Judge.

He was booked in the Santa Barbara County Jail for attempted murder, gang enhancement, possession of a loaded firearm, and committing a felony with a firearm. His bail was set at just over $1,000,000 (one million dollars).

This is an active investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
