The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) announced a reward today of up to $10,000 for information related to the arrest of those responsible for the burglary of a federal firearms licensee in Goleta, California.
Sometime between late July and early August, Goodland Guns, 5731 Hollister Avenue, Goleta, California was burglarized and 11 firearms were stolen. The suspect(s) gained entry by cutting a hole into the wall of the business and then stole five pistols, four shotguns, and two rifles.
Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office detectives were called to the federal firearms licensee on Aug. 12 to investigate the burglary.
ATF Los Angeles Field Division is offering up to a $5,000 reward, along with up to a $5,000 reward from the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the burglary of Goodland Guns.
This total reward of $10,000 is part of a larger national cooperative initiative between the ATF and NSSF in which NSSF matches ATF’s reward in cases involving the theft of firearms from federally licensed firearms retailers. NSSF is the trade association for the firearms industry. ATF works closely with members of the firearms industry to curb the criminal acquisition and misuse of firearms.

When reporting information, include as many details as possible, and contact information if seeking a reward. Information eligible for reward must lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the robbery.
This investigation is being conducted jointly by the ATF Los Angeles Field Division and Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office.

You are confusing thecrime reported by ATF and SO to media date with the burglary date.
The gun shop is closed Sunday and Monday. The burglary was either before midnight July 31, Aug1, or after midnight Aug 2. My guess is the cutting into the safes spanned two dates, two months.

I am confident a US citizen has and will legally build, arm, fuel and maintained a warship.

They were not under letters of marque but more or less fully endorsed bythe USA.
I think you could do so now as well in the USA under a mercenary type contract with the US for training, but it would be cheaper to run training out of Panama or Colombia.
A hobbyist could restore or build a warship, but depending on how it was armed, they might have to keep it outside the international boundary so fuel, food, repairs etc would be difficult.
7916, since August 1st was a Sunday this year a small business on limited hours during Covid19 might easily be closed for a few days, say from Friday afternoon to Tuesday morning for example. If the business doesn’t have a pretty sophisticated video surveillance and alarm system then they could easily be unsure of the exact time of the incident. The kind of video system that you buy at Home Depot is easily neutralized by a slightly sophisticated criminal.

How many know one of the best female shooters ever is from Californian? Anyone know a female shooter from Santa Ynez is a world champion? Recently at the Grand American with almost 4000 shooters and no one got shot! How is that possible?
