“Asteroid City” Tops Streaming Charts

By JaneTV

This week’s list of top streaming movies and shows from Reelgood.com has a lot of interesting content.

A new movie from Adam Sandler that’s received rave reviews, new seasons of old favorites, and a star-packed Wes Anderson film. See the list below.

  1. “Star Wars: Ahsoka” on Disney+ – A continuation of the animated series “Star Wars: Rebels” and a spinoff of “The Mandalorian,” featuring Rosario Dawson.

  2. “Only Murders in the Building” on Hulu – Starring Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez as neighbors solving mysteries in their apartment building, with a guest appearance by Meryl Streep. This is the third season of the popular series.

  3. “Asteroid City” on Peacock – A Wes Anderson feature film set in a retro-futuristic 1955 desert town, featuring Tom Hanks, Scarlett Johansson, and Steve Carell. Get ready for some “alien” invasions.

  4. “Who Is Erin Carter?” on Netflix – An English expat in Spain who must use her combat skills to protect her family. The mystery/drama is easy to watch and keeps the viewer hooked.

  5. “The Flash” on Max – With Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne, this DCEU-based series has been rushed to streaming after underperforming in theaters.

  6. “Suits” on Netflix and Peacock – An old USA Network series about a law firm that hires a genius who hasn’t passed the bar. It features local resident and recent princess, Meghan Markle.

  7. “You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah” on Netflix – A comedy featuring Adam Sandler’s actual wife and daughters as the stars. This movie has a lot more heart than Sandler’s usual slapstick comedies and has become his best-reviewed film, according to Rotten Tomatoes.

  8. “Special Ops: Lioness” on Paramount+ – A series by Taylor Sheridan, creator of “Yellowstone,” starring Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman.

  9. “Heart of Stone” on Netflix – An action-adventure movie starring Gal Gadot as a member of an elite spy brigade.

  10. “Dark Winds” on AMC/AMC+ – Season two of this 1970s-set Western cop show based on Tony Hillerman novels.

What I’m Watching: Asteroid City. It’s hard to resist Wes Anderson’s plucky songs and brightly colored sets. It’s classic Anderson so fans will not be disappointed.
