What the heck is going on with the helicopter flying over ranches in Los Carneros in the last hour? It’s flying SO low we thought it would crash on site. Five horses were freaking out making it dangerous for us to work! It’s now doing the same at Hope Ranch. What’s up?
Midair, you don’t get it. Whether or not this incident was ‘lawful’ it was discourteous and threatening to the people on the ground. This is another example of the selfishness of those who buzz around our communities in both small planes and helicopters. I don’t know if this was such an event or not for sure but there is/was a company offering helicopter tours. Maybe this is that business?
It was NOT the tour company…. I said they were flying a pattern for either aerial surveying, photography or inspection. As a retired Engr. Tech. / Surveyor I can tell you it’s more economical now to use a helo than the fixed wing P-38s that Mark Hurd used out of Goleta back in the late 60s and early 70s for aerial surveys. If you see freshly painted white crosses on the roadway that’s the tell.
