Another Brush Fire Extinguished on Harris Grade

By edhat staff

Santa Barbara County firefighters stamped out a one-acre brush fire on Harris Grade Road.

At 2:55 p.m. Saturday, crews responded to the 4700 block of Harris Grade Rd. in the Lompoc Valley for a reported fire.

Assisted by Lompoc and Vandenberg Fire Departments, they discovered a one-acre fire burning in heavy brush at a slow rate of spread.

A coordinated attack took place from the ground and was able to keep this fire small, reports Captain Daniel Bertucelli.

A half-acre brush fire was extinguished in the 3600 block of Harris Grade Road just yesterday.

There were no structures threatened and no injuries. The cause is under investigation.
