Unfortunately, Annette Bening is sick and is not able to make it for her Arlington Award Tribute this evening. Annette really wanted to celebrate her performance in NYAD and discuss her career with everyone planning to attend.
We’re disappointed Annette can’t be in Santa Barbara this evening, but here is a look at her incredible career!

Until they treated me terrible as a volunteer I was a big fan of the film festival.
Yes, it’s true. My son has worked as an unpaid intern for the last three years and they refuse to feed them or provide parking despite working 12 plus hour shifts. They really take advantage of young people.
I also stopped volunteering as I felt unappreciated and basically invisible.
Message the people in charge.
Seems to be some sense of entitlement among their ranks, with volunteers being somewhat undervalued and underappreciated. There would be no SBIFF without the 100’s off UNPAID volunteers.
Interns have the same rights as employees, entitled to mandatory breaks and lunches.
Definitely want to report this so everyone is treated humanely.
