FLASH FLOOD WARNING: A flash flood warning has been issued for southern Santa Barbara County, including the city of Santa Barbara, Montecito, Summerland and Carpinteria beginning at 7:19 PM until 8:45 PM tonight Wednesday 12/25. This means that flash flooding is occurring or imminent. A Flash flood is an extremely dangerous, sudden, violent, and fast-moving wall of water. Avoid recent burn areas, low-lying areas, areas with standing water, and areas near creeks or streams. If you are in one of these areas, go to high ground or shelter in place. Do not call 911 unless you have an emergency.
ADVERTENCIA DE INUNDACIÓN REPENTINA: Se ha emitido una advertencia de inundación repentina para el sur del condado de Santa Bárbara, incluyendo la ciudad de Santa Bárbara, Montecito, Summerland y Carpinteria comenzando a las 7:19 PM hasta las 8:45 PM esta noche miércoles 12/25. The National Weather Service (NWS) issued an Areal Flood Advisory for all of Santa Barbara County from 5pm-11pm tonight, Wednesday 12/25. The expected rainfall may trigger shallow mud and debris flows, minor rock falls, and flooding capable of localized damage, especially in steep terrain near burn scars. Avoid recent burn areas, low-lying areas, areas with standing water, and areas near creeks or streams. Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Remain alert to changing conditions.
El Servicio Meteorológico Nacional (NWS) emitió un Aviso de Inundación Regional para todo el condado de Santa Bárbara de 5pm a 11pm esta noche, miércoles 12/25. La lluvia esperada puede provocar flujos de lodo y escombros de poca profundidad, pequeñas caídas de rocas e inundaciones capaces de daños localizados, especia lmente en terrenos empinados cerca de áreas quemadas por reciente incendios. Evite áreas quemadas por incendios, áreas bajas, áreas con agua estancada y áreas cercanas a ríos o arroyos. De la vuelta, no te ahogue cuando te encuentres con caminos inundados.
