Eleven additional inmates at the Main Jail have tested positive for COVID-19. One of the inmates was tested on Thursday, August 13, 2020 and confirmed to be positive for COVID-19. Prior to testing positive, the inmate had been housed adjacent to a previously infected cohort in a single cell and was asymptomatic.

In response to the positive case on Thursday, 130 additional inmates in the surrounding modules were tested and today, 10 more positive cases were found, with 120 inmates testing negative. The COVID-19 positive inmates will be medically monitored while contract tracing and testing continues.  This brings the total number of COVID-19 positive inmates who have been housed at the Main Jail to 36.

  1. The state of California released confirmation that the “glitch” has been fixed. Newsom also said it was fixed. Why does Santa Barbara continue to pretend the we can reopen more due the state glitch. It’s fixed morons let’s move it!! Do they think we don’t read or keep up with the happenings? Not all of us are sheep SB.

  2. Why would old underreported cases/deaths have anything to do with current active cases? The underreported cases would be from some time ago and should not affect the current metrics. MAC, you forgot to say
    -said no one ever.
