Edhat StaffAdalberto (Alberto) Vega (age 85), passed away on October 18, 2017, in his Santa Ynez, CA home. He was born on March 31, 1932 in Peoria, Arizona to Secundino Vega from Puerto Rico and Mother Epifania (Anna) Vega from Mexico.
Alberto grew up in Carpinteria, CA, and attended Aliso School, Carpinteria High School and San Jose City College. Alberto retired from the U.S. Postal Service after an accomplished 35 year career. He was a lifelong trumpeter and played in Latin bands in San Jose and Santa Barbara, and he most recently played with The Santa Ynez Wind Ensemble, a 35 member concert band.
