A Very Festive Holiday Parade in Carpinteria

By David Powdrell

Small-town parades are always a magical event.

The number of people marching in the annual Carpinteria Holiday Parade nearly match the number of people on the sidewalk watching.  I find that really cool for some odd reason.

It’s a hodgepodge of eclectic marchers in the Carpinteria Holiday Parade; cheerleaders, local actors and actresses, dance teams, local dignitaries, a firetruck, dogs, veterans of various wars, artists, tractors, Santa and a whole slew of other local citizens.

Here are a few photos of the 2018 Carpinteria Holiday Parade; both parade marchers and parade observers.

My wife and I decided it’d be fun to highlight some of the parade observers by photographing their beautiful smiling faces behind a gold, bedazzled picture frame.

Kudos to all the local heroes that stage and manage this wonderful, small-town annual event in our amazing Carpinteria.
